Tees Valley Citizens for Sanctuary

This group is made up of different organisations, faith groups and nationalities. They are concerned about the reporting system for those people living in Middlesbrough who are seeking sanctuary and are required to report to sign at Stockton Police Station - some every Wednesday/Thursday, others weekly, fortnightly, monthly or 3-monthly. Some are destitute, others have food vouchers, which cannot be used for fares and they rely on friends for lifts or to give them bus fare, and others spend £4 out of an average weekly support of £38 to attend. Those who do not live in central Middlesbrough need to get two buses there and back.
